Dear Swim Team Families,
THANK YOU for the water bottles that have been "pouring" in from our families. We've received 26 cases so far, which is 600 bottles total! That alone is huge for our team as far as revenue and what it could buy for our swimmers.
There is still plenty of time to donate. There will be at least 3 Croc board members at the pool during practice hours the rest of this week and will pick up any donations there. Keep them coming.
THANK YOU for your donation.
Hi everyone,
I just wanted to bring you up to date on the S.W.I.M meet that is scheduled for July 13. I kept waiting to receive information on this meet. I finally went out looking for it. What I discovered was that it had been sent out, but not to us or Brookstone( after speaking with their rep. Probably because we are new teams). Unfortunately after closer investigation, I found out that we had to let them know if we were attending by May 15. Based on the information I have received, this is going to be the "big meet" of the summer. All of the huge teams are going to this meet instead of Cary City( due to the later date). None of these teams went to this meet last year, which is precisely why I wanted us to attend this meet. So..
I wanted to find out what you thought about going to Cary CIty instead. The date on this meet is June 28. The entries are due June 18th but we do need to let them know asap if we would like to attend. This gives us a larger window of time to work with. The meet will be at Scottish Hills Swim Club. This is a very short drive for us. I am guessing that it is about 4 miles from here. There is one other option. There will be one more meet on July 20 at Ravenscroft. There is no current information available on this meet yet. But I will tell you from personal experience, this is an indoor meet and it will be hot, stinky and crowded.
Personally, I would like to see our team attend one of these 2 meets. It is a fun and exciting experience for the kids. Furthermore, it allows our kids to see multiple teams competing in our community.
I am going to forward to everyone the meet information I have about this meet in an additional email. Sorry for lengthy email.
Please let me know what you think. If you want to move forward with this, we can hold an informational meeting for the parents. We want them to understand that this is a fun meet, and not required.
Hi everyone,
The kids are already working so hard, and so are our coaches! Everyone looks great in the water (cold & trembling), but great nonetheless!
One important message that I need to make sure EVERY parent understands: If your child is under the age of 14, an adult MUST sign the child in, stay until practice begins, and pick him/her up prior to practice ending. Even if your child is over 10 and an adult does not need to stay on the pool deck during practice, an adult MUST sign him/her him!!! This is a pool rule and the swim team abides by ALL of our community’s pool rules.
Also, if you are responding to a Yahoo e-mail within our Yahoo group, please don’t forget that if you “reply all” the e-mail goes out to the entire yahoo group! J If you are having a private conversation you may just want to use individual e-mail addresses.
Coming soon….information about the Durham Bulls night! We would like to thank Kris Urker (Madison’s mom) for offering to be our Social Events Chairperson. She is on the lookout for a co-chair, and if you are interested please let Kris or I know!
Sincerely,
Nicole Ridout

Dear Croc Families,
I want to remind each family that the Swim Team Board is asking each family who has a child/children swimming this season to donate a case of water bottles that we can sell during concessions at our home meets. If every family donates at least one case, we would have all the water bottles that we need to sell during meets. This would be a huge money maker for our team and a very successful fundraiser! Since we were rained out (twice) at our potluck, and it was during this time that we had originally asked for you to drop off your donations, I would be happy to accept them at the following three locations. 1. They can be dropped off at the pool and left with the attendant on the inside of the gate. I will collect them during swim team practice. It would be a good idea to let the pool attendant know what they are for, and please feel free to leave your family name on the product. I will followup with an email to let you know that your donation was received. 2. You can drop them off at 2424 Castleburg Drive (Laura Linton's home) 3. You can drop them off at 2450 Castleburg Drive (my home). Please note that Harris Teeter currently has Deer Park cases on sale for $3.99, and Lowes is offering a Buy One Get One Free. Any brand of water is accepted. Please feel free to email dawny@nc.rr. com with any questions or to let me know that you'll be bringing your donation to the pool. On behalf of the swim team board, I thank each and every one of you for your donation. Thank you for supporting our team!

Swim Team Concessions Chair
Dear Croc Families,
My name is Dawn, and I have two returning Crocodile swimmers this year. I will be organizing the "concessions" this year for our home meets and am asking for your input (or, your children's input). :) The yummies we sell during home meets are a huge fundraiser for our team. All the profits go towards new equipment and everything else it takes to keep a swim team strong. With that in mind, I would love feedback as to what your family would like to see offered for sale this year at our home meet concessions. I am planning to bring back Johnny's pizza again and will also try to introduce hamburgers instead of hotdogs. In addition to this, please let me know if you have any new ideas of other snacks that you didn't see last year that you'd like to see this year that would sell well. I already have a list of popular items from our previous concession chairs, but I want your feedback as well. Thanks so much for your time. Come hungry during home meets!
Sincerely, Dawn Bradley
