HOME OF THE 2008 DIVISION 9 CHAMPIONS!

You have just stumbled upon the Charleston Village Swim Team Website.  We are a neighborhood swim team based in Apex, NC. Have a look at our team. We are ready to eat a third wave of opponents.

ANNOUNCEMENTS

Cary City is  here!

Here is the information for the meet this weekend.
The meet will be held at Cary Swim club.   536 Walnut Street
                                        Cary, NC 27511
We are asked to park at Christ the King Church or Cary High School( across Tanglewood Dr.).  Please do not park at Ollies, Burger King or Dairy Queen.

Once you have found a place to park, look for our tent.   We will have crocodile cut outs and our banner out.   We are on the back row of tents near Walnut street. There are about 29 teams represented at this meet, therefore there will be that many tents.   You will need to purchase a heat sheet to see which heat and lane your child is swimming in.  There are as many as 15 heats for each race.  This is a big meet so please make sure your swimmers are attended at all times.  There will be an array of food vendors out there and tee shirts will also be available for purchase.  All swimmers  going tot the morning session will need to be at our tent by 7:20 for  check in  and  1:10 for the afternoon session.

Warm ups for the 10 and unders will begin at 7:40 in lanes 3 and 4.  We will be sharing these lane with Eagles Ridge.
Warm ups for the 11 and up will be at 1:30 in lane 7 with Glenridge.

If you have a sharpie marker, please bring it.  We will not be putting our usual numbers on our swimmers but their heat, lane and event instead.

Volunteers
We need a pusher for each age group to work our tent for both morning and afternoon sessions and someone who is willing to work our volunteer assignment  in the main clerk of course tent(Thanks Gordon for volunteering to do this for us).  I have been assigned stroke and turn responsibilities in the morning.  I have asked that this be switched to the afternoon so I can help out in the tent, but I am not sure if they will be able to change me.  David and Carolyn  will be on the pool deck in the morning.  Please check in with your coaches after each race.

This is a long meet so make sure your child brings things to do...cards, games, electronic games, etc.  We will be bringing some left over water bottles but you may want to pack a cooler with snacks for your child, and a blanket or chairs for them to sit on.

Relays are subject to change as we did have some late entries that will affect who goes where.  Coach David will also be using the results of the Eagles ridge meet to place swimmers.  Several kids will be swimming up an age group for just the relays. This was done in cases where there were not enough kids to fill out a relay in their age group.
